2017 is going to be a great year for our church and it is our committee's job to make sure those in and around our church know it! This year we start off with a new sound system in our sanctuary, and a new video system for recording services. We also will be working on the daily devotionals, and better improvements on social media and the website.
We can't do this without your help though. The communications committee is responsible for all the communications either physical or digital for the members and the community to learn more about what Sharon does and represents. We manage the website, social media, the cablecast, the good news, any advertising done, and the signs around the church.
For 2017, we will have two goals:
First, will be to help educate program leaders, committees, and members on how they can help promote their own events and programs. How to get messages into the Good News, on Cable Cast, or event using social media and other digital avenues to help people become educated on what is happening are all to be covered. We hope to have a few meetings scheduled where people can attend and learn the basics of social media, advertising, and how these are used to help grow churches.
Second, we would like to invite anyone who is interested in learning about what the committee does in more detail and getting involved with helping to keep the public and internal information up to date. This requires NO TECHNOLOGICAL SKILLS (well… very, very basic internet browsing skills). About 75% of what we go is very simple and can be done from the comforts of home. Things such as posting the sermons online, or helping update the social media and website with the good news updates are all easy to do. We do have more physical jobs such as updating the sign in front of the church each month. Most jobs by themselves only take 1-2 hours per month to complete. These jobs may be simple, but very important for those who rely on the updates.
In addition, we will be looking for volunteers to help with the cable cast. We need people who are willing to learn how to operate the camera and sound systems. It sounds intimidating, but these upgraded systems are very easy to use, and this represents a very important ministry for the community and for our members who are not able to make it to the church.
Our committee will be meeting on Jan 18th, 630pm in a room TBD. If you are interested at all or would like more information, please email me at email@example.com or call 412-478-0140.
