This year Kingdom Rock VBS was one of the most exciting VBS weeks in recent years! The theme was focused on standing strong for God’s Kingdom. We had an wonderful time singing and worshipping, playing games, snacking, and experiencing stories, performances, and science experiments and crafts that taught us how God loves us, influences our lives, and how we can become closer to Him. These lessons were not just for children either, but helped all of the adult and teen volunteers involved to strengthen our relationships with the Lord.
We had 33 children from pre-K to 6th grade participate in VBS this year, and we were also blessed to have 32 adult and teen volunteers, who helped in various capacities such as station leaders, crew leaders, and teen helpers. Additionally, we had an abundance of supplies, snacks, and monetary gifts generously given from the congregation that helped to make this awesome week possible.
This week we learned 5 Bible Points and learned about Biblical leaders like King David, Esther, Nehemiah, and King Josiah who stood strong for God in challenging times. On the fourth day, the kids learned about Jesus’ death and resurrection and the hope we have in Him:
Day 1: God’s love helps us stand strong. “I love you, Lord; you are my strength.” Psalm 18:1
Day 2: Family and Friends help us stand strong. “”So encourage each other and build each other up.” 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Day 3: Prayer helps us stand strong “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything.” Philippians 4:6
Day 4: Trusting God helps us stand strong “Trust in the Lord always, for the Lord God is the eternal rock.” Isaiah 26:4
Day 5: The Bible helps us stand strong “Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” Psalm 119:105
This year, we participated in two mission projects during VBS. The children were excited to help local families by donating over 140 items to the food pantry. They also gave over $120 in donations to provide “God’s Love for You” Bible books and New Testaments to children in India in their native language of Hindi. During the week, the kids learned about India and the kids there who will benefit from reading about the love of God. What a great way to stand strong with other kids at home and abroad!
Thank you to the children, volunteers, and the congregation for making this a week to remember!
